Three years ago, when I moved back to Youngstown, Ohio, I started to develop the concept of a marketing event, which is now DOYO Live. I have given everything that I possibly have to give into making this event a success. I am truly passionate about being an ongoing resource in marketing and helping people succeed.

It is truly amazing that we have someone like Joe Pulizzi speaking at this event. It is beyond my wildest expectations and honestly I cannot sit here today and tell you that I thought it would be possible in year one.

However, that’s the Content Inc. model that Joe will deliver in his keynote. By working to create interesting and compelling content, we were able to gain the interest of Joe Pulizzi!

We are living in truly unprecedented times when it comes to business. Never before has the barrier to entry been so minimal when it comes to our ability to create compelling content and find the mediums in which to get that content in front of the right people.

We are in unfamiliar territory because a major shift has taken place; buyers are more empowered than ever and the online world is no longer a nice-to-have, it’s a necessity. They have more choices as to where they consume their information, making our jobs more difficult in marketing and sales.

Which is exactly why I believe, that all professionals should have a resource for marketing education. Through education they will learn how to create a compelling story through content, deliver that content through the right mediums, gain traction in the market and grow your business. My mission is to be an educational resource for marketing, business, sales and design professionals, 365 days a year.

This is happening now via our blog and this event. Eventually, we will be producing a podcast, monthly webinars and perform workshops. I look forward to DOYO becoming an annual event, where we can come together as marketing professionals; listen to great talks, get instruction, collaborate, network with other great marketing professionals and get inspired.

Motivation comes in a lot of places and forms, which is why it is so important for me to make a special mention of the four most important people in my life, and why I do what I do. They are the reason why I wake up everyday to work hard, take the time to play, and enjoy this life. It takes a special person to support you working 15 hour days so that you can follow your passion in business, and still be present with your family.

My wife JoAnna deserves all the credit in the world for being there everyday for our three kids, ages 7, 5 and 3, and for being a loving, supportive wife; all while managing the logistics of coordinating this event! They are truly amazing, and I love my family beyond words!!

For me, life is about risk, being a little uncomfortable and challenging myself. This is by far the biggest risk I have ever taken in my entire career. At times it has completely scared the heck out of me, due to the amount of work and what is at stake. However, the challenge has made it that much more exciting and rewarding.  I hope it helps to inspire you to take risks (as well) in your business, career or day-to-day responsibilities.

I want to deliver a great marketing conference and also an amazing experience. I have loved every minute of this journey to get where we are today!

I am very committed to making this event a long term success and love the fact that you are here! I want to help with the re-vitalization of Youngstown, leave it in a better place that I found it and do my part in contributing to the growth of this GREAT AMERICAN CITY!

Thank you so much for being a part of DOYO, it truly means the world to me!

See you at DOYO!

Dennis
