If you do then you will love this episode of The DOYO Live Marketing Show, I got an opportunity to sit down with local entrepreneur, Bergen Giordani, Owner of One Hot Cookie in Youngstown, Ohio. We are very excited to announce that Bergen is going to be featured as a breakout session leader at DOYO Live. Her talk will be focused on how she built her idea of selling hot cookies into a well recognized brand through the use of social media marketing, branding and Fredo the Dog.
Are you willing to hustle?
Bergen will articulate that as an entrepreneur anything is possible if you are willing to hustle for it. This scrappy, lean, start-up can serve as an inspiration to all of us. At the time, she was a single mother of one. The sole provider of both care and financial stability for her family. She had every excuse in the world to not take the risk and launch her first store at the Erie Terminal Building in Youngstown, Ohio. As we jump ahead to now, she’s up to 3-stores, has an online component to her business and is considering expansion in the near future.
Has your marketing gone to the dogs?
This episode is just full of great inspiration, Bergen and I go way back to the 1st TEDx Youngstown and then as partners in crime, as I serve on the committee for the annual PAR Memorial Golf Tournament that supports The Rich Center for Autism at Youngstown State University. Bergen heads up the committee under the direction of Dom & Jackie Marchionda Family and is a major contributor to the success of the event, which is one of the key financial contributors to this recognized center of excellence.
You will absolutely love to hear Bergen’s story about how she used furniture from her daughter’s room in her first store, to Fredo, her pet pug (RIP) took on a personality of his own on social media and at one time was trending. We had a good laugh about the fact that people would stop by in the early days just to meet this famous pooch. Who says you using dogs in your marketing strategy doesn’t drive results. Just as Remi and Kate Middleton, the latest version of Bergen’s favorite pets and very present in the branding and marketing strategy at One Hot Cookie.
By donating a portion of revenue to animal charities and being a big dog lover. In a very sophisticated manner, Bergen’s identified her tribe, as the buyer persona (at least one) are dog lovers that really love cookies as well…Which I am a big fan. I love One Hot Cookie, the fact that I’ve been able to be part of a committee that supports a family foundation with her and that she’s supporting DOYO Live by being a breakout session leader.
